Scott Lang gets a partner

The first official Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer is now online from those Marvel Studios.
The studio has moved pretty quickly to ensure that a sequel to Ant-Man would be part of their Phase 3 plans, after the movie became a critical and commercial success back in 2015 and I have to say I’m really pleased as I thougfhrly enjoyed the first movie and was left wanting much more of the little hero with a big punch. Who can forget the superb model train sequence.. just brilliant!
This time things are a little different, albeit somewhat similar. Peyton Reed is back to direct, but isn’t jumping in after the departure of another director. Evangeline Lilly is back as Hope van Dyne and gets to suit up along with Scott Lange as… the WASP.
These pair should most definitely have been in the Avengers film from the start as Ant-Man has always been associated with the Avengers, right from the start.
The second Ant-Man film has really flown under the radar so far, thanks to Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War taking precedence. Still, the movie has been teased as being a romantic comedy.
I’m pleased to see that the entire cast from the first Ant-Man film is back, though the sequel is adding plenty of big names, too. Michelle Pfeiffer and Laurence Fishburne are joining the fun as iconic Marvel character Janet van Dyne (the original Wasp) and Bill Foster (Goliath), respectively, while Walton Goggins and Hannah John-Kamen are set to cause problems as villains in the film.
The time has finally come to get the first official look at Ant-Man and The Wasp, now that Marvel Studios has debuted the first trailer.
Check out the Trailer below and see what you think!
The first trailer give us our first look at Lilly in action as Wasp. Not only having shrinking technology but she’s also got a pair of wings and kewl blasters, or should that be ’stings’.
As important as Wasp will be, the other half of the story is Scott’s. The trailer starts with him reflecting on the events of Captain America: Civil War. He is now the reason they are on the run, but Hope is quick to point out that they wouldn’t have been caught if she had been included in the fight. The trailer offers plenty of teases of Scott suited up as Ant-Man, as well as his Giant Man mode. With Wasp giving the sequel a new shrinking character, there should be a fun dynamic with her fighting style and Scott’s when he’s giant.
In addition, the trailer offers a quick look at Bill Foster, as well as John-Kamen as Ghost. She will be one of the film’s main villains, and has a nice looking all-white suit to help her standout. There is also a big emphasis on the overall use of Hank’s shrinking tech here. Between shrinking a building into a rolling suitcase and shrinking the heroes’ van at the flip of a switch during a getaway chase, it looks like Reed is elevating the action for Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Can’t wait!
