So, James Gunn is now the saviour of the DC Universe!

Of all the people that could have been put in charge of these awesome characters Mr Zaslaf has decided James Gunn along with Peter Safran is the correct man or men counting the both of them for the Job!

I have to say in my personal opinion going by what he did with his version of The Sucide Squad, James Gunn would have been my last choice, not to mention the film didn't exactly set the Movie Industry on fire and again in my opinion was a gawd awful film and not a patch on the original.

I've been a comic collector for many years and as m much as I am a massive Batman fan, I'm just as much a fan of the Marvel Universe. Captain America being my number one Marvel character, well at least he used to be, not really so sure with the current version of Cap. The Avengers and X-Men being my favourite teams. But I've always looked upon the DC characters as more for mature audiences than the Marvel characters... I can't exactly put my finger on why, but that's how I've always looked upon both universes.

Judging by how James Gunn has handled the Guardians of the Galaxy films I would definitely NOT have picked him to take over and head the DC Universe as I find the way he's handles the characters to be immature and childish... which I suppose as I've just said, is more inline with how I've always looked upon Marvel Comics and their characters.

Undoubtably David Zaslaf has decided that this is how The DC Universe should also look. In my option this is 100% completely wrong and Gunns childish humour has no place in the universe where Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman or any of the DC Characters live. But I suppose David Zaslaf can do what he wants as he now owns WBD so it's his call.

Out of all the Marvel films and yes I've watched each and every one of them from day one... Guardians of the Galaxy are my least favourite... and well... to be honest... they aren't even the right Guardians!

When Marvel first announce they were making a Guardians of the Galaxy film I was expecting the likes of Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Starhawk, Martinex and Yondu.... although we did get a very crude version of Yondu ... have to say a gawd awful one, but we did get Yondu.

Not exactly the upright and proud warrior Yondu. Instead we got an outlaw that along with his crew, looked like they hadn't washed for a year.... and don't get me started on what James Gunn did with the NOVA Corps, however I did love what he did using Rocket Raccoon!

Can't go wrong with a furry character in your films!

I wonder what DC characters James Gunn has 'ear marked' to totally destroy and give us a completely different version of what most DC fans would be expecting to see on screen. Wouldn't put it past him to completely change the backstory and look of one or two DC heroes.... but I'm sure as it's James Gunn, no one will 'bat an eyelid' and say oh, it's fine.

To me it seems that in the eyes of many, especially those people who like call themselves Comic Book Superhero fans but actually have never picked up and read any form of Marvel or DC comic, James Gunn can do no wrong.

We shall have to wait and see... but hey, this is just my personal opinion!
