No 'Mediocre' Batman film
Ben Affleck will not direct a 'Mediocre' Batman film
Being a massive fan of Ben Affleck and his portrayal of BATMAN, it’s so great to hear this snippet of news in reference to the upcoming BATMAN movie staring Ben as the ‘Detective’ and hopefully the Director.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly (via Comic Book), Affleck affirmed his desire to a make a great Batman film, stating:
“I’m not going to write and direct anything that I don’t think is good enough to be made. I’m definitely going to make sure I have something that is special—there’s not enough money in the world to make a mediocre version of Batman worth it.”
Ben’s performance in the Batman v Superman movie has been consistently highlighted as one of the brighter spots in what some people, but definitely NOT me, thought a flawed film. BATAMN will next appear in 2017’s Justice League, in late November, but will hopefully also return in his own film, written and directed by Ben Affleck.
Surrounded by considerable buzz and with Affleck in the driving seat, the project will also be co-written by comic legend, Geoff Johns. Recent reports have suggested the tentatively entitled film ‘The Batman’ may be released sometime in 2018, but Affleck has continuously stated that he will not be rushed!
It’s great to know Affleck is taking his time in an effort to do the ‘World’s Greatest Detective’ justice and as everyone knows, BATMAN is most definitely the most popular comic book hero ever. Ben’s proved he can play the best BATMAN on screen, now let’s hope he can direct the best BATMAN film ever!
